Below is the official event that I went to at Halls last week. I had such a fun time with my husband and look forward to more fashionable events in Kansas City. I hope you enjoy the photos from that night. I wore a BCBG pink silk dress, shoes were from Windor, and my purse is a vintage Dooney and Bourke leather bag.

Designer Rebecca Minkoff to Appear at Halls’ It’s a Girl Thing Event – Oct. 3

Halls will host its bi-annual It’s a Girl Thing event on Thursday, October 3, 2013 from 5pm to 8pm at the Plaza location – and we can now announce that designer Rebecca Minkoff will be our special guest that evening from 6 to 8!

As usual, the evening will include hors d’oeuvres, drinks and LOTS of great new fall merchandise. This year, we will create the World of Rebecca Minkoff featuring Rebecca’s 2013 fall collection handbags, ready-to-wear apparel, shoes, jewelry and sunglasses. It’s going to be amazing!

Clinton Lake-Beach Day

Hello readers,

The other weekend we went to Clinton Lake with a few friends. It was a spontaneous moment where we wanted to enjoy the summer and the beach for a bit longer. Rob and I were already missing LA so if we could go to a fake beach to pretend we were still in LA why not? Note to readers: Clinton Lake did have that squishy lake feeling so it WAS NOT A BEACH. (I think I felt a fish nibble my toe too so THAT was fun)

We went shopping in Lawrence at The Hyvee and purchased way too much food for just five people. We have gotten a littler wiser lately, instead of eating it all for lunch, we decided to grill out for dinner too. We ate, swam, played freakin' hot sand volleyball, had a few beers, had a few more beers, drank water, rinsed off, and got home before sundown. It was a really nice trip and I'm glad we have spontaneous friends.

LA 2013-Labor Day Vacation

Readers!

I have been so bad about keeping updates but the amazing news is I finally received my new camera! It didn’t come in time for my LA Labor Day Vacation but I am just glad it finally arrived. I took my husband to LA for the first time to visit my family and one of my best friends Cassandra. I miss her a lot living so far away but she is pursing her dream of acting so I am nothing but proud.

I took a lot more photos with my iPhone but did manage to pull a few camera photos from our time in Santa Monica. I will post more later but wanted to just upload a few photos to enjoy. I have a lot more fashionable events coming up for the adverting world here in Kansas City so stay tuned!

THINGS I LEARNED IN CALIFORNIA

• There are such things as sand fleas and boy did they bite me. I was supposed to be all “sexy sexy” and my arms looked like I was a bad drug addict. (Spray on bug spray on beach)
• Not nearly enough people take full advantage of the ocean. They live RIGHT BY IT!
• LAX is a lot further away from Van Nuys than I remember.
• ALWAYS plan ahead b/c traffic sucks. Like if possible leave 3 hours early. We were stuck in traffic driving to San Diego for 2 extra hours :(
• ALWAYS pack snacks in the car if a wife becomes cranky and wants to yell at strangers stuck in traffic. (OR HUSBAND….)
• The Hollywood Bowl has to be one of the coolest things I have ever been able to see; we watched The Philharmonic play along with famous Oscar songs/movies.
• Don’t ever underestimate the love of family or friends. Truly so blessed and I’m reminded every time I get to visit them.
• Husbands make sexy taxi drivers/chauffeurs when running around Los Angeles.

LA Vaca

I just got back from vacation in LA and hit work hard today. I will be posting a pretty spread of pictures from my trip tomorrow. Stay tuned. My cat Hawkeye helped me pack of course.
